This is the answer for my horse that rubs her face raw in every ha later we put on her. She just has sensitive skin. So e tied off in complete comfort instead of a halter. It is heavy made but super comfortable with the padding. I found I like to use it as a lesson to green horses to give them a different sense of pressure to lead them as well in BBC awe I ever need to rope them Or have a lead but no halter handy - this is a great training tool as well as an option for horses that have ear issues in handling or thin skin on their face like mine!
