Our beta biothane neck collar can be an alternative to a halter for some horses. It's waterproof, fadeproof and sweatproof for use in the stall, the field or under saddle. Designed to rest on a comfortable spot on the horse's neck without sliding over the ears.
This neck collar features a buckle closure and is fully adjustable. This design features a leather breakaway for maximum safety during turnout. It also includes a metal loop for lead ropes or shanks to attach.
Now with the option to order a nameplate or a hanging tag to personalize your neck collar! Choose your preferred plate color or tag color and shape (circle or heart). Please note, neck collars with plates or hanging tags will take longer in production. Plates and hanging tags are not eligible for rush shipping. Hanging tags may ship separately. Plates may not be added to neck collars made from with neoprene padding.
I bought 2 of these collars to keep on my horses during bad weather so I can keep their trackers on them. Initially I ordered the standard size for both my 15 HH Curly and 17 HH FriesianX. They came in and looked great! My Curly has a thick neck, but the regular horse size fits her on the smallest hole. However, the Friesian, with what I think is a thinner neck, could not even get his fastened. When I contacted THT, they immediately offered to send me another one once I returned the one that didn’t fit. I received the new one for the FriesianX & it fits him great! Customer service and great products! I will definitely order for them again!

I use these for my big rescues who are too skiddish to accept haltering in the beginning. Great for catching and gentle leading.

These are perfect for my horses in case they escape their paddock onto 2k acres or for being able to get ahold of my flighty gelding when pulling him in from paddock. My mare got herself into a predicament and the leather snapped, just as intended, leaving her safe and carefree. Customer service is also outstanding. Highly recommend even for daily use.

We got 4 of the nylon breakaway neck collars last fall (2022), and they held up well. This May (2023) We got some additional mules for our herd, and decided to get new beta biothane breakaway collars for all of them. The biothane has a different design, and only uses 1 rivet to hold the leather strap to the ring. The nylon collar had 2 rivets. Three of the collars fell off in the two weeks, and we are using baling twine to hold it on until we can get a new rivets.

Update: I contacted two-horse-tack, and they have rectified the issue. The new design uses a Chicago bolt and fuse to make it easier to replace when the 'breakaway' feature is needed. This is appreciated, because the prior design necessitated retiring the collar when the leather broke. Two-horse-take sells the replacement fuses, and agreed to replace mine for free given the early failure. I checked the other collars, and the Chicago bolt was not tight enough. Make sure to tighten it with a tool on both sides of the bolt. Pliers and a screwdriver worked for me.

One of the collars fell off in the first week, and we are using baling twine to hold it on until we can get a new rivet. They others are holding so far, but it's only been two weeks.
Maybe it was done this way to make it easier to replace if the leather breaks?

We put this on my daughter's hard to catch pony! We have the horse size but it still fits him well enough. No rubs from it, stays clean, and makes it much easier to grab him.
